Enhance your locating skills by learning how to use Precision Locators and Ground Penetrating Radar systems direct from the manufacturer. Sensors & Software and Radiodetection are offering 2-day courses in Canada and the U.S. Check our schedule to see where these courses will be held.
To meet the increased demand and requests for utility locating training, Sensors & Software and Radiodetection are now hosting 2-day courses throughout Canada and the US. These in-depth training courses focus on effectively using Precision Locators and GPR for utility locating.
We have often preached about the need to use every tool in your toolbox to solve the problem at hand: Precision Locators and GPR are some of those tools. A good locator knows that one tool cannot find everything that is buried, so employing a combination of tools is the most effective way to ensure utility strikes are minimized. How these tools complement each other, as well as tips & tricks for complicated locates are covered in these courses.
The first day of each session focuses on Precision Locators, where users learn about:
• Basic locating theory
• Passive & active locating
• Frequency selection
• Completing the circuit
• Getting a good ground
• Survey techniques
The second day concentrates on GPR, where users learn about:
• GPR theory
• Factors affecting target detection
• Frequency & resolution
• Application of Line Scan and Grid Scans
• Survey techniques
• Data interpretation
Users can register for both days (at a discounted rate), or just the day they are interested in. A key feature of these courses is the hands-on time spent using the equipment. Students from previous courses have loved how the hands-on component firmly connects the concepts they learn to the real world. A student from a previous course remarked “The theory and hands-on complement each other very well.” Another student noted: “The class is very thorough and interactive; I learned a lot!”.
