October 1, 2010 – Introducing Noggin 100

Sensors & Software’s Noggin family frequency range now extends down to 100 MHz! This exciting development is all the more significant when the Noggin 100 is placed into context with the Noggin product focus – GPR systems designed to make using GPR simple and easy; full GPR functionality contained in a ‘monolithic’ package.

Up until 2010, Noggins have only been available in higher frequencies of 250, 500 and 1000 MHz. These Noggin systems have the antennas embedded in the package. Since lower frequency GPR systems require larger antennas, creating a compact, low frequency member of the Noggin family presented a challenge. The new Noggin 100 GPR comes with detachable 100 MHz antennas that allow the whole system to fit into a single hand-carried shipping case.

Accessories include the large diameter odometer wheel for equally-spaced data collection and GPS for positioning.  Lower power consumption means fewer heavy batteries for field surveys and allows the SmartTow configuration to be easily transported into remote areas. The system is also readily deployed on the SmartCart in smooth areas.

From mining exploration and geotechnical investigations to deep utility detection and archaeology, the Noggin 100 is the perfect compact, simple-to-use, low frequency solution.
